Past Results:
2008 Race Report
The 4th Annual Esquimalt 8km is over and receiving rave reviews. The Zone at 91.3FM was again on
site and provided the event with the edge that has kept it different from other events (click start photo to enlarge).
Scott Simpson and Nancy Fedorak
cruised to victories, Simpson winning the men's race in a time of 25:23 and Fedorak crossing the line in a quick
32:20. Simpson said after the race that his goals include racing the National 10km Championships this fall and
potentially the National Cross Country Championships. Fedorak plans on breaking 30 minutes for 8km at the annual
Royal Victoria event in October. Her personal best is 30:02.
Kris Swanson and Eric Kiauka were second and third on the
men's side. On the women's side the infamous Tenacious Blue was second, while Alison Hunt was third.
Full Results
Other notables were Teresa Ovie winning the women's 60-64 age category in a time of 1:06:21 and youngster Derek Machin throwing up when he
crossed the line in 33:03. Good enough to earn him the "hard work" award and a pair of socks and a complimentary
entry to the 2009 race!
Plenty of athletes took in the services of Synergy
Health Management. They provided complimentary treatments and assessments following the hard day of racing. It is
always a bonus when Synergy shows up at races! They also provided a great selection of the draw prizes.
