Peninsula Runners is proud to announce a new member of the team. Jillian Bellows found Dave through a Saturday shop at Freedom and now the two are married. The ceremony was beautiful and here are some pictures so you can enjoy them with us! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Milne! Great Lake Walk completed
On Saturday, Sep. 19, local walking/fundraising dynamo Jacquie Farris powered through the 56km Great Lake Walk in Cowichan, supported by our own Adam O'Meara & Myke Labelle. Jacquie completed the Great Lake Walk in 7hrs 42mins 51seconds. Jacquie is raising awareness and financial support for Sean Marlowe, a local triathlete who was tragically injured in a 2004 car accident. Our long-time staff-member and good friend Heather Hollman has picked up and moved on to chiropractic school in Toronto. While attending UVic, she competed in triathlons, coached our running groups and always brought a smile to the face of everyone she met. We'll miss you, H-Squared! Jul 5/09: Congratulations are in order for our friends Allan Boos, Dominic Bergeron and our own Heather Hollman, for their performances in the 2009 Tri of Compassion in Esquimalt on July 5. Heather, a recent UVic grad who will be competing at the World Triathlon Championships in Australia, earned 1st in her age group. Way to go! June 28 Races in Vancouver and Seattle
Jun 28/09: Congratulations to all our friends who ran June 28 at the Scotiabank Half Marathon in Vancouver and Seattle's Rock'n'Roll races, including our own Sarah Riddell, who completed her first half-marathon. Way to go! Top finishes for Myke LaBelle and Jeff Hunt at Great Walk Ultra
Jun 6/09: Congrats to staff member Myke LaBelle and sponsored athlete Jeff Hunt for their performances this past weekend at the Great Walk 63.5km Ultra marathon. Myke was 1st across the line in 5hrs 13mins and Jeff 4th overall in 5hrs 55mins. The event featured 3250ft of climbing and 3500ft of descent from Gold River to Tahsis, BC.
